It was perfect weather for this year’s annual Onehunga Christmas Parade!

Record crowds lined Onehunga Mall to watch the colourful floats, dancers, bands, and cultural groups, wend their way around town. Matty McLean, 2019 TV Personality of the Year, and former local, was the MC, with judges Maungakiekie-Tãmaki Councillor, Josephine Bartley, The 312 Hub’s Amiria Puia-Taylor, and Dress-Smart and Onehunga Business Association’s, Gaylene Powell.

The standard was high, which made judging tough, but in the end they gave St Josephs School first place for their traditional nativity float. Potters House Church came a close second, and My Home Renovations awarded third place.

Well done, and a huge thank you to organisers, Onehunga Business Association, and all the generous sponsors,  Maungakiekie-Tãmaki Local Board, Four Winds Foundation, and The Trusts Community Fund, with support from Onehunga Community Patrol, Kiwianis, Onehunga One Tree Hill Rotary and Clean Events.
