As the year draws to a close, we want to take a moment to reflect on the vibrant tapestry that is Onehunga – a community where the heartbeat of society thrives.

The Onehunga Community News has been a shining beacon, illuminating the vital role of local ommunities in everyone’s lives.

On behalf of the team at OCN, we want to thank you for reading and engaging with us over the last year. As the OCN relies solely on advertisers to keep our doors open, we want to thank you, our loyal and trusted advertisers, for giving us the opportunity to spread the word through our town.

To our readers, thank you for not only reading the magazine cover to cover, but also for sharing your views, beliefs and stories with us.

The OCN has seen massive changes this year. We said goodbye to editor Rachel Sturges and hello to new editor Lara Fagan. She started in February and has had the best time being at the helm.

Lara wants to personally shine a light on the team at OCN: Amanda, Janet, Tim and Kate. Thank you for making sure the magazine is always filled with adverts and editorial content every month. It is also very sad to announce that advertising manager, Janet, will be retiring at the end of January. She has lifted the magazine up to a whole new level, and filling her shoes will be a massive task. Thank you Janet. The OCN team and the community are going to miss you very much.

Thank you to those working behind the scenes, in making sure the magazine looks amazing: Rachael, our fantastic designer; Wei our website guru and Nats, who fights with scammers and makes sure our domain is always working. And thank you to Colin from Community Media Ltd, who prints the glossy magazine for us.

Lara is enthralled to work with such an amazing and supportive team.

To the visitors coming to our town over the festive season, we welcome you and wish you a joyous stay with loved ones and friends.

The Editor and staff of the OCN want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very happy and prosperous New Year.

The first edition of OCN will hit the streets on Thursday, 1st February. If you want to share your news with us, please email office@onehunga.co.nz
