Jane Treseder provides male clients access to free good quality clothing to wear to a job interview, important meeting, or major life event.

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression, so Fix Up, Look Sharp director and founder, Jane Treseder, is helping men put their best foot forward. With a BA in Social Work and 18 years high-end fashion retail and styling experience, she says she saw a need for a service to provide male clients access to free good quality clothing to wear to a job interview, important meeting, or major life event.

The not-for-profit registered charity helps ease the emotional and financial stress of finding something suitable to wear, by giving clients, (referred from a social service organisation) a free one-on-one styling appointment and a fresh outfit. Jane and her volunteers help a variety of men, from those who have never worked before, to those seeking a career change. If the client is successful in gaining employment, he also receives a set of ‘get ahead’ clothing, to have him looking smart and ready to enter the workforce.

Through her work in both the fashion industry and social sector, Jane’s diversified background allows her to offer additional support and advice if needed, to help clients feel better prepared and confident for the important meeting or event. “I provide the same service to each person, regardless of their situation. I just love styling, and I enjoy what I do. Men don’t usually like to ask for help, so I’m always happy to offer advice. I really appreciate their feedback – especially when they leave here with a positive experience and feeling good about themselves,” she says.

They are currently low on larger-sized shoes and shirts, and currently accepting donations of good quality mens’ dress shoes size 11-14, size 3XL larger dress pants and size XS and S shirts.  The team are grateful for their loyal sponsors such as Working Style and Johnny Bigg, and they hope to connect with other organisations and menswear brands to continue providing their invaluable service to those in need.

The service is by appointment only, and applications and enquiries can also be made via their website – fixuplooksharp.org.
