The Onehunga Community News has been following the progress of Onehunga High School’s Service Academy teacher, Elaine Webb, after she ran a gruelling 51 km to raise funds for mums of neonatal babies. Almost a month later, the mum of three has raised    
$12, 150 to equip the day-stay rooms at Auckland Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with beds and TV’s, so mums –expressing milk every two hours for intravenous feeding- can have some bonding time with baby and some rest time themselves. The run began at The Library Cafe in Onehunga and ended at the hospital. It is hoped the sponsorship effort will come to $13,000. 

Who pays if Transpower grabs the land?
In 2007 the Ministry for the Environment published the Proposed National Environmental Standards for Electricity Transmission  in which it stated that ‘Lack of protection for the national grid from inappropriate third party activities puts the grid and the person undertaking the activity at risk, and results in expenditure by the grid operator of over $5million per year to rectify problems.’
