The theme for the July school holiday is ‘What lies beneath’, and there are lots of fun events for children planned between the 8th and 23rd of July.

Monday 10 July 10:30 – 11:30am

Fun with science: within the earth, grow your own geodes

 

Wednesday 12 July 2:30 – 4pm 

Beneath the sea: Jacques Cousteau’s world.  Help to make a giant triptych mural of the ocean world to display in the library.  Could be messy!

 

Friday 14 July 3:30 – 4:30pm

Beneath our soils: Being waste-wise.  Join Hari to find out more about worms, compost and how to grow your own greens.

 

Saturday 15 July 2 – 3pm

Fun with Friends: Create your own rainbow fish.

 

Monday 17 July 10:30 – 11:30am

Beneath your skin: Part 1, What is beneath your skin? A fun activity to learn more about you.

 

Wednesday 19 July 2:30 – 3:30pm

Beneath your skin: Part 2, What lies beneath your skin? Help to recreate your skeleton.

 

Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by parents during the activities.

Monday 10 July 2-3pm

Design your own peg-shark this shark craft makes a fun toy or puppet.

 

Tuesday 11 July 2-3pm 

DIY- Fish in a bag slime. Squish, squeeze and stretch it – make your own slime and have some gooey, slimy, sensory fun. 

 

Wednesday 12 July 2-3pm at Oranga Community Centre

Design your own peg–shark, this shark craft makes a fun toy or puppet.

Monday 17 July 2-3pm

Operation Gameboard:  Help to make an operation game that can light up and beep. Enjoy a dexterity game in which you must extract silly body parts from a hapless patient.

 

Tuesday 18 July 2-3pm at Onehunga Community Centre kitchen

What Lies Beneath cookies, knead and shape your own cookie and enjoy the fruits of your labour.

 

Wednesday 19 July 2-3pm at Oranga Community Centre

Onehunga Library Refurbishment:
