YMCA at Onehunga War Memorial Pools are hosting their fabulous pool party on Saturday April 10th to celebrate the end to an awesome summer.
An annual celebration which is a highlight on the local scene, people of all ages are invited to join in the fun-filled action-packed afternoon from 12-5pm. Live music will flow as a backdrop, from local young artist Cypress Tei.
The inflatable aqua run will be on the water for any keen challengers, with the bumper boats also out to enjoy. There will be games in the learners pool for the younger children, and a lolly scramble. Be sure to keep an eye out for our friend ‘Wai the whale’ who will be visiting to share awareness about water safety.
Adults can participate in the family friendly aqua-zumba on display, or compete in the swimming races. More games will be on offer, with local judges awarding great prizes. Their famous bbq sausage sizzle will be on location to keep hungry tummies at bay.
The pinnacle of the ocassion is the renowned dive board bombing competition, which the local children look forward to every year. Many hours are spent over summer fine tuning the perfect bomb.
This will conclude the day’s events, so be sure to get your gear together, and head along to farewell summer in style at the Onehunga pools.
